Leaves applique quilt

Usually we do "pantograph" quilting, which is an edge to edge design that is repeated over and over on a quilt. But for applique quilts, this isn't always the best kind of quilting - because then the quilting would go over the applique and cause them to pucker in weird ways. A client brought in her very beautiful leaves applique quilt. Instead of doing a pantograph, we quilted it with a "freehand" leaf pattern. This means that I didn't follow a set pattern while quilting. I just had a general idea of the shape of the leaf that we wanted and basically "drew" leaves across her quilt with my quilting machine, all the while going around the appliqued leaves. This was a king size quilt, so I've included several pictures.
