UT Women's Basketball Team - #11 Jay-Ann

And here is the 4th and final quilt that I made for the seniors of the University of Toledo Women's Basketball Team. This one was for Jay-Ann, #11. She chose the layout (with the help of her teammates) to make her navy blue practice jerseys into the shape of a "J". Very cool!

UT Women's Basketball Team - #33 Nancy

And here is the 3rd of 4 quilts that I made for the Seniors of the University of Toledo Women's Basketball Team. This one was for Nancy #33. She chose navy sashing on the inside of the quilt and UT gold around the outside border. She also chose gold thread and the quilting pattern Interlocking Squares.

UT Women's Basketball Team - #35 Jada

And here is the 2nd of 4 quilts that I made for the seniors of the University of Toledo Women's Basketball Team. This quilt was for #35 - Jada. Each girl chooses the layout of their shirts, as well as the color of the fabrics, thread and pattern. Jada chose a gray variegated thread and the quilting pattern called Interlocking Dots.

UT Women's Basketball Team - Michaela #24 Quilt

Every year, I make the senior quilts for the UT Women's Basketball Team. This is my 8th year of making quilts for the team. They had 4 seniors this year. This quilt is for Michaela #24. She chose a gray sashing and blue binding and the quilting pattern Interlocking Loopy with gold thread.

Univ of Toledo senior quilt #43

Here is the other quilt that I made for the University of Toledo Women's Basketball team this year for Senior's night. This one was for Sophie #43. She chose navy blue sashing with a gray binding. She also chose the quilting pattern Interlocking Dots.

Univ of Toledo Women's Basketball Team senior quilt #12

Many of you know that I make the senior quilts for the University of Toledo Women's Basketball team. This year they had 2 seniors. The first is #12, Janice. The girls and the asst. coach come over to my studio with their shirts and the girls pick out everything for their quilt - the layout, the quilting pattern, and the thread. Janice chose her favorite - a hearts 'n curl pattern with pink thread. Then a pink binding and a pink backing.

Every year I make the senior quilts for the University of Toledo Women's Basketball Team. This year, there were 2 seniors, Ana (#32) and Brenae (#1). They each chose their own fabric and thread and quilting pattern and arrangement of the squares. They turned out great!

University of Toledo Women's Basketball Team Senior Quilts

This year, I again made the t-shirt quilts for the graduating seniors of the University of Toledo Women's Basketball Team. I did one quilt for Stephanie and one quilt for Inma. Both used each girl's own shirts. For Stephanie we picked out an interlocking dot quilting pattern because it gives motion to the quilt. Inma picked out her own pattern - she chose interlocking squares and I kind of think they look like basketball courts. Very fun!

UT Women's Basketball Team Quilt

We made this quilt recently for the University of Toledo Women's Basketball Team. They have an annual fundraiser called "Cake, Rattle & Roll", which raises money for the girls to go on a summer basketball international tour. This coming summer they're going to Spain, which is where one of their players is from. To see many more pictures of their event, you can look at their facebook page "Toledo Women's Basketball".

 We quilted this quilt with the "interlocking dots" patterns, which suggests basketballs and gives movement to the quilt.

University of Toledo Women's Basketball TEam T-shirt Quilt #4

Here's a picture of the last UT Women's Basketball Team senior quilt. The girls pick their own shirts to go in the quilts. This layout was different than the others in that we did horizontal rows of colors. I think it worked very well with this collection of shirts. 

 The quilting pattern was the same as in the others "flaming basketballs".

University of Toledo senior quilt 2

Here's another of the 4 of 5 UT Women's Basketball Team Quilts that we completed 2 weeks ago. Each girl chose their own fabric sashing to go around and between the squares. This gal chose navy blue sashing between the squares and dark gray around the outside. This is the first time we've done a t-shirt quilt like that. It turned out great - I especially like how the navy blue binding picks up the navy blue sashing from the inside sashing.

Here's one of the quilts that we made for the University of Toledo Women's basketball team. These are given to the graduating seniors on the team. Here's one of the girl's quilt. 

  The close-up shows one of the shirts was a jersey-type netting material. It still quilted up very nicely. The quilting pattern is called "flaming basketballs".
