The 2022 Yearly Recap starts tomorrow!

The 2022 Yearly Recap starts tomorrow! I’ve been doing this yearly recap for several years now. I post pictures of all the quilts that I’ve worked on throughout the previous year. I usually post the clients pictures alphabetically by last name - one client's quilts per day. Watch for the first post tomorrow!

What's on the Frame? Ann B's "All About Me" quilt

What's on the Frame? Ann B's "All About Me" quilt. The quilt pattern is by Atkinson Designs. What a really great pattern to use focal fabric to highlight aspects of the recipient's life and interests. Ann chose the quilting pattern Meander 2. Then we used a medium to dark variegated gray thread called Pumice - that way it blends with all fabrics in the quilt..

What's on the Frame? Sue K's Kicks quilt

What's on the Frame? Sue K's "Kicks" quilt. The paper pieced quilt pattern is by Latifah Saafir. Sue chose the quilting pattern Modern Curvy 2 - which gives motion to the shoes. Then we used a light variegated gray thread called Canaan. So the quilting shows up, but not too much - at least not enough to detract from the shoes.

What's on the Frame? My quilt called "Getting to Know Hue"

What's on the Frame? My quilt called "Getting to Know Hue". The pattern is by Nancy Rink and was a block of the month from The Quilt Patch in 2017. The most difficult part of this quilt is the Lone Star Center. I put off trying it for many years until a friend at a quilt retreat walked me through making it, step by step. Couldn't have finished this quilt without her help. I used a quilting pattern called Large Spirals. The center "bubbled up" because of my piecing issues, so by using a spiral quilting pattern, I was able to "eat up" that extra fabric. I was very pleased with how this came out. I used a variegated light purple thread called Signet Ring.

What's on the Frame? Jennifer L's baby girl quilt

What's on the Frame? Jennifer L's baby girl quilt. She chose the quilting pattern Encircled 2 - which echoes the shape of Humpty Dumpty in the fabric. Then we used a very light pink, yellow, blue and green thread called Mummies Dearest. This baby girl quilt and the baby boy quilt from yesterday's post, were for a set of twins. How perfect!

What's on the Frame? Nancydee M's Winter Solstice quilt. We chose the quilting pattern Commas. Notice how the curves in this pattern accent the pinwheels in her quilt and give it a little motion. Then we used an icy purple thread called Signet Ring.
