Quilted pillow with ties

Amy W came to me with a sewing project she had started to make with her dad's ties. She had the ties generally sewn together and asked me to help her finish it. So I loaded it on the quilt frame, just like a quilt. I quilted it with different freehand quilting patterns on each ties. Some were quilted with diagonal lines, pebbles, or cross hatches. Then I trimmed it up and was able to special order a pillow form that fit the shape of the finished trimmed quilted ties.

Bowling Green t-shirt quilt pillow

This is a pillow we made for a high school graduate. He's going to Bowling Green in the fall, so we made him a t-shirt quilt pillow. We took a tshirt with a great BG logo, added brown fabric and batting and quilted it. Then made that into an "envelope-style" pillow cover. This means the quilted cover can be taken off and washed separately from the 27" pillow form. 

 We quilted it with a pattern called "spikey feathers", which is very appropriate for the BG Falcons.
